What is the CRB?

The CRB designation (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager) is one of the most respected and relevant designations offered in real estate business management.  The CRB community spans nearly 7,000 members worldwide.  Through the Council’s leading-edge education and resources, members are among the most efficient, effective and profitable managers in the country.

The median gross personal income of a CRB designee is 84% higher than that reported by brokers, owners and managers without the designation.

Not just anyone can display the CRB designation after his or her name. It is reserved for only the most dedicated conscientious and highly skilled managers.
CRB designees have:

  • Dedication to recruiting and training their associates to handle real estate transactions with professionalism and the most up-to-date information, techniques and tools.
  • Skill in designing effective marketing programs to promote and sell property for the highest price and in the shortest period of time.
  • Management know-how assisting sales associates in helping to quickly find a property matching the needs and wants of the customer.
  • Experience and understanding of market, housing and economic trends that will be used to positively influence transactions.
  • Expertise in maintaining an organized, smooth-running organization which ensures that transactions receive prompt and thorough attention.

If you would like to earn the CRB Designation, you must enroll into the CRB Designation Program as a Candidate Member by completing the application . Candidate members receive all the benefits of membership.

Council
The CRS® Designation, awarded by the Council of Residential Specialists, is the highest professional
designation awarded to REALTORS® in the residential sales field. Less than 4% of all REALTORS®
hold the CRS® Designation. CRS Designees earn a median income of $160,500 annually - four times
as much as the typical REALTOR® who sells residential real estate.
THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CRS® DESIGNATION
There are two options to choose from. Choose the path that matches your level of experience.
Production Requirements:
25 Transaction sides (with no
time limit)
OR
$8 million with a minimum of 10
transactions within any two-year
period
Education Requirements:
Two Core Courses
(Business Planning & Marketing,
Listings, Sales, Wealth Building,
Technology or Referrals)
AND
Education Requirements:
Three Core Courses
(Business Planning & Marketing,
Listings, Sales, Wealth Building,
Technology or Referrals)
Production Requirements:
75 Transaction sides within any
five-year period
OR
$25 million within any five-year
period
All Designation programs require membership in the Council of Residential Specialists. All
members are required to maintain active REALTOR® or REALTOR ASSOCIATE® membership
in their local board/state association. A $75 processing fee applies to all designation
applications. There is no time limit in fulfilling the education requirements. THERE ARE NO
EXCEPTIONS TO THE REQUIREMENTS STATED ABOVE.
